The Virtual Paintout

Barcelona, Spain
Colored Pencil on smooth Bristol

I made messes, I wrecked, I laughed, I cried

Well, not really... I still have a few pages left. I didn't do the "watch this deteriorate" or "give this away".... and a couple others. I did enjoy this so much and I Thank Jamie for having us share our good wrecks and our bad- which actually were good when they were really bad!!!!I made "THE END" using one line, can ya find it?

it's spose to be a finger pointing at you... but i'm not sure it turned out so...heh heh

A few rants:
I tried to get the hair to stay down so I could get it to make something... it didn't happen so I will call this "Amoeba" OR "Jellyfish"????

Pocket lint
The final collection
After finishing the doodling I felt like I passed a test. So I played teacher on the page.
Can you believe I didn't really find the white things to cover this completely. I took it literally.
all white
random newspaper page

had me some chicken alfredo
This is what happens when I doodle while watching Spongebob Squarepants cartoons.
This was the most fun! I made this tiny paper chain and I managed to cut one of the lengths and leave it attatched. Therefore, the entire chain will always stay attatched to the book. Love it!

Veggie Crate

A first look at my newest project! I've been working on this color pencil drawing for about a week now. The gray area will (hopefully) end up looking more like cement sidewalk and the white splotches on the gray will be autumn colored leaves. What do you think? I have enjoyed this soooooo much! (almost hate to sell it!)

Go ahead- Wreck it!

Another week has gone by, haven't done too much with my journal. I don't carry it with me in my purse like I should. I also keep want to "save" some of the pages to do and then of course I forget.
I like my stamp page. We don't get a lot of mail with stamps on there anymore. Everything is all electronic. It was neat to see what different kind of stamps are out there since usually I don't even pay attention to that.

Below: Havin' Fun with Elmer I have no clue how to make a proper paper airplane. Mine always turn out to be paper folded in half and then the front folded to make a point. I had to enlist my hubby on what the heck all those lines were for.....
I tested it's first flight....Once again, my youngest helps mommy...

Below: Found a Blue Jay feather on my front lawn to add to the "found things" page.

Turned out looking quilted! Kinda cool!

Ew!

I helped a couple neighbor girls make a cake for their moms birthday. The journal was on the counter so I remembered the fingerprint page!

and then I got carried away with the leftover cake batter. What would happen to a sharp point knife that is loaded with cake batter? Answer: a mess and some holes in my pages! It was fun tho!

DSDF Challenge

My entry into the DSDF challenge.
I changed the scenery the poor guy was around. I like to call this "Enjoying Retirement".
It seemed too "I don't wanna be here" with him sitting next to the Office door.
I cropped the painting. It was 6.5 x 9.5
It is now 6.5 x 6.5 done in watercolor.
This is the photo that was given to work with.

Below are "Peppers and Onions" done with watercolor also. I'm working on the shading now.

Neighbors, "Seriously, what is up with that girl?"

Journal golf-
My neighbors dog, Reese, was just not having it. It got a sniff, he licked my book, and that was that.

My 3yr. old son Marc attempted to humor his mom.

What is that girl doing!!!!!!??????

My friend took a picture of me taking the journal for a walk. She was very reluctant and said it was against her better judgement and that she was only going to take my picture because it was my birthday. Thank heavens it was my birthday! I got to use that one allllll day! ("you gotta, it's my birthday...")
(I got a few looks- you know the kind....wack-a-do!!!!!!)
I had fun! At first I admit, I literally turned 34, but felt 4. I do like how the page turned out!

Hollow-Sketches

A quick sketch from Illustration Friday's challenge "Hollow". We have a lot of RedHeaded Woodpeckers that have put a lot of holes in some trees near our house. This is what I think of when I hear the word Hollow.
Here is another quick sketch I did late at night, from a picture.

CigBreak- Portrait

A sketch to share with you. It's been awhile since I've done a portrait sketch. I still enjoy them very much. I'm learning everday with sketching everyday. New subjects, new media, I'm having fun, but portraits are where I started and will probably always feel pretty comfortable doing.
This is a close up pic from my camera of a sketch I did from a Midwest Living mag picture.
Here's the color pic below:

A side by side pic from my camera...
In the moleskine journal from the scanner...

I didn't change the pixels on the moleskine scan. It's interesting how a scanner and a camera photograph change the same picture.

GRLZ-RL

A prismacolor pencil picture I'm working on.

6x6 Bristol Vellum

This is pretty much done, I just need to work on the road and the sky. I'll keep the "shoulda" and the "yeah but that..." from being posted out loud. You know how it goes.... Think I'll label it a WIP

Hey! You Wreck that Journal, girl!

I was a little slow on my journal this week. I took it easy.
Here is the circle page, well on it's way to getting full!
I found some cool firework- discards? endtrails? garbage- yep
The upper right is a Candyland man, from the game. And the lower left is a seashell rubbing.

And that word is : <---Arrow--->
Have you ever said a word out loud over and over and it started to lose it's meaning. Like "pink" or "Love", instead of thinking of a color or the meaning of the word, it just starts to sound like a funny sound. (I know I'm not the only nutty buddy that has tried this.)(and no, I don't sit around picking words and repeating them aloud, especially alone.) Ok-anyway...
I noticed as I wrote the word over and over it looked like I was spelling it wrong.

Thee envelope please....

I like this one, and I'm sure I will add more to this page. I love doodling for no reason!

More next week, I'm hoping to get a string and drag this journal along the sidewalk.... Give my neighbors a good laugh and a roll of the eyes! ("There goes Kaye, doing her artsty fartsy thing again.")
